Dan Conley has a great piece just published on Salon where he compares the current Obama-Clinton situation to the Chuck Robb-Douglas Wilder Senate stand-off of 1994. Conley was Gov. Wilder’s press secretary during that campaign and has also worked for Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, now one of Obama’s biggest supporters. The similarities between 2008 and 1994 are really remarkable.

Cool Song Lyrics
OK, I’m finally breaking down and joining the other bloggers who post song lyrics they think are really cool but probably mean jack spit to 99.99% of their readers. This one is from one of my favorite rockers, Marius Müller-Westernhagen:
Ich bin der schwärzeste Neger,
ich bin der jüdischste Jud.
ich bin der deutscheste Deutsche
ich hab’ das [...]
Real leadership on illegal immigration in the Fairfax County budget
The alternative budget put forward by Supervisor Pat Herrity (R-Springfield) included the full funding of $1.5 million for a third strike team for the zone enforcement task force. Herrity was joined in outspoken support by Supervisor Jeff McKay (D-Lee). They were able to successfully pressure the board to include $1.2 million in funding. I sat [...]

McCain wants children to die!
A new(?) non-profit organization, McCain Source, is running “informative” commercials about…you guessed it…John McCain. The latest commercial that I saw was one that informed me that McCain voted not to extend coverage to uninsured children, but I already new this. What was really informative was what was implied: McCain does not care [...]
Superdelegate Wussies (Except Heath Shuler)
Craig Crawford of CQ Politics asks a grrreat question: “If Democratic superdelegates truly want Hillary Rodham Clinton to quit the nomination race, why don’t they just publicly endorse Barack Obama and get it over with?”It’s not as if there ain’t “mo…

More Reasons To Celebrate Stombres
I have had a couple of birdies chirping in my hear that my esteemed state senator, J. Chapman Petersen, is furious that Steve Stombres was not just elected last night, but that he finished so high. Its like icing on…

Dingle-Retarded: JMU’s Commencement
Ponder this. You’re graduating from James Madison U. and your commencement speaker (Tom Dingledine) tells you to hold hands and close your eyes as new age music is cued. Quick, you have two seconds to decide what to do?
1) Grab the hand next to you because she is a hottie
2) Start the wave
3) Begin to converse [...]
Evening Chuckle: Thank God This Is Almost Over
I’ll write more about the end of the Clinton campaign tomorrow, but for now:

Diane Nardi and her “probationary” rehiring…
Those of you who are trying to make some sort of conspiracy between the “media” and them failing to disclose her rehiring on a probationary status, should stick some ice in your drawers and cool your jets.
Diane Nardi, who is likely to be as rude and hostile as I can be at times, was rehired [...]

Race Baiting & Pundits & Stuff
With over 90 percent of blacks voting for Barack Obama and whites voting for Hillary Clinton, Talk Left has an interesting post on the race problem for the general election and what went on in the past.It is a mortal sin to point out that in the South …
Business Trips Are Anti-Blogging
First night in three when I have the connectivity and time to blog. Plenty to write, but not able to do it. My apologies are my excuses.
Plenty to write about. Just not able to do so when earning my daily bread as this.
I asked my wife this question about this trip: “Are 10 hours in conference room Hell, death by powerpoint, less than, equal to, or greater than 2 hours of beach time?” The older I get, the easier it is to answer this question.
I’ll post when I can. Much to write. Just takes time to write it as I will.

What Law School Really Is About
“It’s not who’s the best, though. The person who fails the least gets the A.”
~ My friend, during a Con Law study session this afternoon.
I have no idea how I’m going to make it through this week. Con Law is gonna be rough. Property, I’m not as concerned about. IBO, yes, I’m concerned, but it [...]

Has Dick been uncovered?
I promise to answer in a Quality way!
Perhaps, Dick, errr…Bob, you should out yourself? You’ve been extremely quiet since the suspension of Becky.
Yom Ha’Atzmaut

Mugabe Says “Thanks”, George
Tom Friedman talks about the “Democratic Recession” occurring in the world today:”The decline of U.S. influence and moral authority has also taken a toll. The Bush democracy-building effort in Iraq has been so botched, both by us and Iraqis, that America’s ability and willingness to promote democracy elsewhere has been damaged. The torture scandals of Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo Bay also have not
Superdelegate Jennifer McClellan switches to Obama
House of Delegates member, DNC member, and superdelegate Jennifer McClellan said today that she is switching from supporting Hillary Clinton to supporting Barack Obama:
…[Clinton] lost another supporter, Virginia state House member Jennifer McClellan, who switched to Obama. McClellan is one of at least nine superdelegates who have switched from Clinton to Obama since the Super Tuesday primaries on Feb. 5. There have been no public switches in the other direction.“I think the time has come to support Senator Obama as the likely nominee,” McClellan said in a conference call with reporters. “Given what happened last night, it’s very unlikely we will have a different result, and it is time to come together as a party and prepare for victory against John McCain in November.”
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200…
This switch had been rumored for some time. Jennifer had introduced Hillary Clinton to the February J-J Dinner, and was one of the highest profile Virginia delegates supporting Clinton.
