Our enemies will test the new president early,” Lieberman, I-Conn., told Face The Nation host Bob Schieffer. “Remember that the truck bombing of the World Trade Center happened in the first year of the Clinton administration. 9/11 happened in the first year of the Bush administration.
The rest of the short [...]

Cooch Bill Fires Employees For Speaking Spanish On Phone

Posted by Author in June 20th 2008

The wording of Cuccinelli’s S839 would permit an employer to prohibit the speaking of a foreign language even if an employee is speaking on the phone to a relative. It has nothing to do with illegals, who are not eligible for unemployment insurance.

Astute GoodbyeKen Reader Points Out Ken’s Theological Inconsistency

Posted by Author in June 20th 2008

“Soul Coaxing” was a hit for 60s French bandleader Raymond Lefevre. Astute reader Frank Anderson questions Ken’s dictum that life and soul begin at conception. What about Anderson’s twin brother, he asks. Who got the soul when their zygote split into two?

Ken’s Tax Holiday Saves 49 Cents Per Person

Posted by Author in June 20th 2008

The tax holiday on school supplies of which Ken boasted would save $3.8 million, or 49.7 cents per Virginian. Be sure to thank Ken for the 49 cents in savings, which must be replaced from some other source anyway.

Oleszek Attacks Cuccinelli Over $1,050 Speeding Tickets

Posted by Author in June 20th 2008

If drivers think that getting pulled over means a $1,050 fine or worse then there will be more incidents at traffic stops. The $1,050 speeding ticket is a stupid idea supported by the candidate of the stupid, the Faisal-Gill-endorsing swine Ken Cuccinelli. Why not raise the fee to $200 or something reasonable? Why $1,050? At least we are not as bad as Sweden, where traffic fines are based on ability to pay. Some traffic fines in Sweden have reached the five figure level in US dollars.
