Tom Davis Requests Earmark 7 Times Larger Than Bridge to Nowhere

Posted by Aimee in June 10th 2008

From the Heritage Foundation:
Representative Tom Davis (R-VA) is requesting the House of Representatives to consider an amendment (H.R. 3496, as revised) to the Deep Water Energy Resources Act (H.R. 4761) that would divert $1.5 billion of federal revenues earned through offshore drilling to subsidize the deeply troubled Metro transit system serving the nation’s capital and [...]

Why DWJ Loves Gerry, Part 9

Posted by Aimee in June 9th 2008

Reason 9: Because the Washington Post says we need bipartisanship, and in a time where Obama is taking a good shot at turning Virginia blue, we need to make sure we keep our NOVA candidates clearly purple.
Everyone knows that liberals can’t be bipartisan. In order to do that, you have to at least be part [...]

Why DWJ Loves Gerry, Part 8

Posted by Aimee in June 8th 2008

Reason 8: He knows how to work the system.
When Gerry was responsible for a hit and run in 2004, he was found not guilty because they could not prove that he knowingly drove away, even though he looked straight at the couple whose car had been hit before driving off. On top of this, when [...]

Why DWJ Loves Gerry: Part 6

Posted by Aimee in June 6th 2008

Gerry is a man/woman who defies labels. While he may run as a Democrat, such simple categorization could never define a man as complex as Gerry. Some have said he’s a Tom Davis Democrat. Some have called him Republican-lite. I prefer to think of him as Santa Clause for the War Machine.

Speculation: Who’s the Connolly Endorsement?

Posted by Aimee in June 5th 2008

From a Connolly GOTV email:
“P.S. We’ll be announcing a major new endorsement at the rally Saturday. You don’t want to miss it!”
Any speculation as to who’ll endorse Connolly? Kaine’s already endorsed Gerry and Webb has endorsed Leslie….who is left?

Why DWJ Loves Gerry: Part 5

Posted by Aimee in June 5th 2008

Reason 5: SAIC agrees that Connolly would help fill the void left by Tom Davis
Raising Kaine has more. The fact that Leslie filed a complaint against Gerry’s campaign for this just proves what we all suspected: Leslie Byrne will not defend the common man, the war profiteer. What is this country coming to when our [...]

Oganowski FAIL

Posted by Aimee in June 4th 2008

I know that Johnny is the king of FAIL graphics around here, but I can’t resist…

(Graphic Contributed by Kenton Ngo)
From the Boston Globe:
“In a major embarrassment to Republican leaders in Massachusetts and in the U.S. Senate, Jim Ogonowski, the party’s anointed candidate to challenge Democratic Senator John F. Kerry, failed by a razor-thin [...]

Why DWJ Loves Gerry: Part 4

Posted by Aimee in June 4th 2008

Reason 4: Gerry will help to fill the void left by Tom Davis.
I love Tom Davis. I even wrote him a letter asking him not to retire, but to run for re-election. So now that we can’t vote for Tom, we should all do the next best thing and support Gerry Connolly! [...]

Why DWJ Loves Gerry: Part 3

Posted by Aimee in June 3rd 2008

Reason 3: Gerry Connolly is an angry man. We appreciate this, and can’t wait to send him away from Fairfax to be angry in DC instead. Sure, he might take out some of the anger on his constituents, but once he clears them out, he’ll have plenty of time to have meetings with lobbyists. Gerry’s [...]

Why DWJ Loves Gerry, Part 2 of 10

Posted by Aimee in June 2nd 2008

Reason 2: Gerry Connolly is proud to be a woman, and we applaud his willingness to fight on in the face of adversity.
Gerry Connolly is a fighter. How do we know this? Because we’ve seen him in action. Gerry sent out a mailer highlighting his long record as a super-liberal-awesome candidate, and used the NOW [...]
