Just What Was Jeff Frederick Thinking ?

Posted by Doug Mataconis in October 12th 2008

A new Time article about the state of the Presidential election in Virginia is getting a lot of play in the blogosphere, thanks largely to something RPV Chairman Jeff Frederick is quoted as saying:
No Democratic presidential candidate has carried Virginia since 1964, and most election years both campaigns pretty much ignore the state. This time, [...]

The Sub-Prime Crisis Is A Bipartisan Disaster

Posted by Doug Mataconis in October 12th 2008

While Republicans are eager to place the blame for the subprime mortgage crisis and the subsequent credit crisis on Democrats, perhaps they’d better do a little research before running that ball down the field.
Consider, for example this speech from 2002:
I believe owning something is a part of the American Dream, as well. I believe when [...]

If You Can’t Stand The Heat, Stay Out Of Philly

Posted by Doug Mataconis in October 12th 2008

Sarah Palin got a not-so-friendly reception at the Flyer’s game last night:
It’s hard to blame Sarah Palin for her booing on the ice in Philadelphia this evening. It’s almost a truism of politics that if you send a pol to a sporting event, he’s going to get booed. Politicians, as a class, aren’t all that [...]

Polls Indicate Another Disappointing Year For Third-Party Candidates

Posted by Doug Mataconis in October 11th 2008
