U.S. Wisely Investing in Gold, Silver, and Bronze

Posted by Publius in August 17th 2008

China may have a strong influence over the worth of the U.S. dollar, but this Olympic Games Americans are investing in Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

The Dollar is only backed by our good name, but U.S. athletes are backing our good name with the gold/silver/bronze standard. Currently, America holds a 65 to 61 medal lead over the host country in the 2008 Olympics. Politicians have given control over our financial markets to the Chinese but our athletes are investing in the future.

Maybe it’s time we take a page from Michael Phelps’ book and determine our own financial destiny.

Who’s the REAL Conspiracy Theorist?

Posted by Publius in April 2nd 2008

Barack Obama is taking some heat for statements made by his pastor that are controversial to say the least. Many of these are conspirator in nature. Many of Obama’s pastor’s statements refer to various conspiracies. I am sure you have seen most of them. As an example, Dr. Wright blamed the US Government for using HIV as a population control. These statements are obviously inflammatory. And if they were actually made by Obama himself would surely disqualify him from running the nation.

However this is not the case. Obama is not a conspiracy theorist. However, the evidence is building that…

McDonnell-Bolling 09 and Not a Peep from the Left

Posted by Publius in March 25th 2008

The Left is scared stiff here in the Commonwealth of the McDonnell-Bolling ticket in 2009. How do I know? Bolling announced that he will NOT run for governor and WILL run for re-election as LG on a McDonnell-Bolling ticket in ’09, and there is no reaction from the Left. The Right is talking feverously about a dream ticket in ’09 and no more than a report (NLS tried to break the story) from the Left.

Don’t believe us, try quick search on BNN.

Delegate Johnny S. “No Email” Joannou

Posted by Publius in March 19th 2008

Delegate Johnny S. Joannou (D-79th) holds the distinction as the ONLY member of the General Assembly NOT to have an email address. As the peoples’ representative, this is really not a good thing to be known for. While he began serving in the House of D…

Who is the GOP’s Number Two?

Posted by Publius in March 18th 2008

With McCain having clinched the nomination the question has arisen as to who the GOP’s number 2 will be? We here at The Virginian Federalist would like to take a different look at this question. Who is the GOP’s number 2?

Who came in second in the Republican Presidential Primary? This question is important for several reasons. The candidate who came in second is clearly a potential vice-presidential nominee. This person is also automatically catapulted into a leading position for the next presidential nomination.

So who is it? According to our independent delegate count found on our…

Hillary Loses a Superdelegate

Posted by Publius in March 12th 2008

With the news that Eliot Spitzer has officially resigned, Hillary Clinton has lost a Superdelegate, permanently!

Spitzer’s Superdelegate status was tied directly to his position as a Democratic Governor. By resigning effective Monday, he will no longer hold the position that Superdelegate is tied to. New York’s Lieutenant Governor David Paterson will take over as Governor.

Naturally, one may assume that Paterson, a Hillary supporter, would take over his status as Superdelegate. However, Paterson himself is already Superdelegate. This Superdelegate position will not be replaced.

Therefore,…

Mississippi Spells Problems for Obama

Posted by Publius in March 11th 2008

While Barack Obama is expected to easily win the Mississippi Primary, the exit polling data shows surprising trend. Clinton supporters overwhelmingly don’t like Obama.

The Data shows that 72% of Hillary Clinton’s supporters in Mississippi would be “unsatisfied” if Obama is the Democratic Party’s nominee. This stands in stark comparison to the mere 55% of Obama supporters that would be unsatisfied if Hillary got the nomination.

This nearly 20% disparity in satisfaction with the opposing candidate does not bode well for Obama. Superdelegates that are trying to please the most people with…

CNN Linked The Virginian Federalist

Posted by Publius in March 11th 2008

Yesterday, was a monumental day for The Virginian Federalist. CNN.com linked to our post “Hillary was for the DNC Sanctions Before She was Against Them.”

To our knowledge this is the first time our blog has been linked by a national MSM site. We hope it will not be the last. We felt that this was an accomplishment worth sharing. We appreciated CNN’s taking interest in our analysis.

Hillary was for the DNC Sanctions Before She was Against Them

Posted by Publius in March 10th 2008

On September 1, 2007 Hillary Clinton, along with Barack Obama, signed a pledge that she would not campaign in any state that had broken the DNC’s rules about changing the date of the primary. Both Florida and Michigan had previously moved their prima…
